INFLORESCENCE Inflorescence a panicle.

Panicle open (3), or contracted (3).

Spikelets solitary. Fertile spikelets pedicelled. Pedicels filiform (3/4), or linear (1/4).

FERTILE SPIKELETS Spikelets comprising 1 fertile florets; without rhachilla extension. Spikelets elliptic (4), or ovate (2); dorsally compressed; 2–3.174–4 mm long; breaking up at maturity; disarticulating below each fertile floret.

GLUMES Glumes persistent; reaching apex of florets (3), or exceeding apex of florets (4); thinner than fertile lemma. Lower glume elliptic (3), or oblong (2), or ovate (3); 1 length of upper glume; membranous; without keels, or 1-keeled (1); 3 -veined. Lower glume surface asperulous; without pits. Lower glume apex obtuse (1/5), or acute (4/5). Upper glume elliptic (3), or oblong (2), or ovate (3); 1–1.133–1.5 length of adjacent fertile lemma; membranous; without keels, or 1-keeled (1); 3 -veined. Upper glume surface asperulous. Upper glume apex obtuse (1/5), or acute (4/5).

FLORETS Fertile lemma elliptic (3), or ovate (3); dorsally compressed; indurate; without keel; wingless; 5 -veined. Lemma surface unwrinkled; without grooves. Lemma apex obtuse. Palea 1 length of lemma; indurate; 2 -veined; without keels.

FLOWER Lodicules 2 (5/5). Anthers 3.

FRUIT Caryopsis with adherent pericarp (5/5); ellipsoid (3/3); dorsally compressed (3/3). Embryo 0.2 length of caryopsis. Hilum punctiform (2/5), or elliptic (3/5).
